Hi,

I spent two years living and working in Komaki near Nagoya. I really enjoyed my time in the country and met lots of wonderful and kind people who invited me to be part of their lives. The people of the town adopted me, and were always willing to involve me in traditional Japanese festivals and family events (such as Golden Week). I would happily return (although I am a little more mature than foreign teachers normally are, peak is mid 20's) as I have many fond memories, and I hope that my students (both young & old since I taught elementary school students, employees of a local hotel and housewife classes) will remember the lessons that I taught them and have found a dream to improve their English language skills.

I have been living in Japan for the past 5years. It�s a wonderful country. The people are so kind and helpful. Nobody here will be arrogant or pick a fight with you. Everybody will obey the rules around and keep the environment clean. If you look around a store for more then an hour and end up buying nothing the staff will still bow and thank you for coming to their store. Though one thing what I don�t really like is that Japanese people don�t express themselves very well. They wouldn�t tell you something on your face like an American, Chinese or any European would. Overall it�s a very peaceful and crimeless country.

While I agree that Japanese people are a little reluctant to express themselves, this may be due to fear of embarrassment if they say the wrong thing (as they do not want to upset their family or friends). Anyway, sometimes other nationalities are a little too quick to jump in with an opinion, and this can be frustrating or cause unnecessary arguements. I prefer the Japanese way of dealing with these issues.
