I read this poem from 123greeting.com site
Here is the words ...
it is about love ..
Love is the sweetest emotion,
That springs in my heart,
Love is like that tender kisses,
You gave me at the start,
Love is that to see that special smile,
Appear on your face,
Love is like a bouquet,
With it is trimmings & lace,
Love is like sunshine,
Stronge and true,
Love is all that,
I feel so deeply for YOU
I hope you like it It is one of the best poem I have read it ! |

Hi!!My name is chloe.
How do you do?
I like poem,too.
I introduce a poem.
Yesterday is history.
Tomorrow is mistery.
Today is gift.
I feel so.
What I am makes What I will be.
I think that I use word and grammar with wrong.
So I couldn't tell you what I want to say.
Next time,if I have a dictionary,I will wright my thought on this board. |

Id like to share this poem is from Henry Wadsworth longfellow, i hope you like it. By the way, im 28 and im from Mexico
NATURE
As a fond mother, when the day is o'er,
Leads by the hand her little child to bed,
Half willing, half reluctant to be led,
And leave his broken playthings on the floor,
Still gazing at them through the open door,
Nor wholly reassured and comforted
By promises of others in their stead,
Which, though more splendid, may not please him more;
So Nature deals with us, and takes away
Our playthings one by one, and by the hand
Leads us to rest so gently, that we go
Scarce knowing if we wish to go or stay,
Being too full of sleep to understand
How far the unknown transcends the what we know. _________________ Carpe Diem!! |

This is a very famous poem by the Scottish poet, Robert Burns. Originally it was written in a scottish dialect, but it is difficult to understand, so this version is in normal English.
0, my love is like a red, red rose,
that's newly sprung in June.
0, my love is like a melody,
that's sweetly play'd in tune.
As fair thou art, my bonnie lass,
so deep in love am I,
And I will love thee still, my dear,
till a' the seas gang dry.
Till a' the seas gang dry, my dear, (All the seas run dry.)
and the rocks melt wi' the sun!
And I will love thee still, my dear,
while the sands of life shall run.
And fare thee well, my only love!
And fare the well awhile!
And I will come again, my love.
Tho it were ten thousand mile! |

I do believe people are trying to learn English on this forum. Is it that hard to type it yourself?
Rehab - Elle Allard
We'll blink & it'll all be over.
We won't wake or see the same again.
We'll try our best to forget,
Because that's the only thread of hope we can still cling to.
Just let ourselves be medicated into a simulation of reality,
Feel the syringes pierce our already acutely poisoned skin.
We'll watch the pure white walls with eyes a gaze
& wonder ever so secretly to ourselves,
How on Earth did we fall so far? _________________ Al ti-ra veh al tif-chad |

I liked reading or sometimes writing poem when I was a teenages.
But now I haven't been doing that for ages.
In my opinion, poems could make me more romantic, but life need me to be more reality. |

"Daffodils" (1804)
I WANDER'D lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the Milky Way,
They stretch'd in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed -- and gazed -- but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.
By William Wordsworth (1770-1850). |

William Shakespeare - One of his most famous sonnets...
Sonnet XVIII.
Shall I compare thee to a summers day?
SHALL I compare thee to a summers day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summers lease hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines, 5
And often is his gold complexion dimmd;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance, or natures changing course untrimmd;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou owst, 10
Nor shall death brag thou wanderst in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou growst;
So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee. |

My Short Skirt by Eve Ensler
My short skirt
is not an invitation
a provocation
an indication
that I want it
or give it
or that I hook.
My short skirt
is not begging for it
it does not want you
to rip it off me
or pull it down.
My short skirt
is not a legal reason
for raping me
although it has been before
it will not hold up
in the new court.
My short skirt, believe it or not
has nothing to do with you,
My short skirt
is about discovering the power of my lower calves
about cool autumn air traveling
up my inner thighs
about allowing everything I see
or pass or feel to live inside.
My short skirt is not proof
that I am stupid
or undecided
or malleable little girl.
My short skirt is my defiance
I will not let you make me afraid
My short skirt is not showing off
THIS IS WHO I AM
before you made me cover it
or tone it down
Get used to it.
My short skirt is happiness
I can feel myself on the ground.
I am here. I am hot.
My short skirt is a liberation
flag in the women's army
I declare these streets, any streets
my vagina's country.
My short skirt
is turquoise water
with swimming colored fish
a summer festival
in the starry dark
a bird calling
a train arriving in a foreign town
my short skirt is a wild spin
a full breath
a tango dip
My short skirt is
initiation
appreciation
excitation.
But mainly my short skirt
and everything under it
is Mine
Mine
MINE. |
