Welcome GTS students and others!
What do you think of this song (from Sesame Street)?
Well, I'd like to visit the moon
On a rocket ship high in the air
Yes, I'd like to visit the moon
But I don't think I'd like to live there
Though I'd like to look down at the earth from above
I would miss all the places and people I love
So although I might like it for one afternoon
I don't want to live on the moon
I'd like to travel under the sea
I could meet all the fish everywhere
Yes, I'd travel under the sea
But I don't think I'd like to live there
I might stay for a day there if I had my wish
But there's not much to do when your friends are all fish
And an oyster and clam aren't real family
So I don't want to live in the sea
I'd like to visit the jungle, hear the lions roar
Go back in time and meet a dinosaur
There's so many strange places I'd like to be
But none of them permanently
So if I should visit the moon
Well, I'll dance on a moonbeam and then
I will make a wish on a star
And I'll wish I was home once again
Though I'd like to look down at the earth from above
I would miss all the places and people I love
So although I may go I'll be coming home soon
'Cause I don't want to live on the moon
No, I don't want to live on the moon
Or maybe you would prefer to live on Mars?

Here is some vocabulary for the article:
intergalactic = across space
cosmic = in space
the Red Planet = Mars
jaw dropping = surprising
...odds are... = probably
stumbling blocks = problems
inhospitable = uncomfortable, difficult to live on
bunny hopping = jumping like a rabbit
Are there any other words that you need? |

I think if I got chances to visit the moon, I will go there. But, if you ask me to stay overthere, I need confirmation from the scientist that we can live in the moon, just like the places we stay in the earth now.
How about you guys? |

It's impossible to say what part of Mars you'll be touching down on, but odds are you'll land somewhere near the broad equatorial belt. While temperatures elsewhere on Mars fall to a murderous 220F, they can climb to a shirt-sleeve 68F in the planet's tropicsnot that Mars' thin, toxic air would ever allow you to strip down to your shirt sleeves.
It's imposible to live in mars. to live there, the astronouts need all the suitable equipment. they need to stand the high temperature, toxic air, gravity and others (including to see the alien; maybe).
to do research there may be. but to live there, that's another story _________________ Say cheese..........

I feel very weird if I stay in the moon. But, if everyone stay in the moon, more fun, then I will stay there. I don't like to stay alone in the moon. Very bored and unhappy to see the same things there. |

toxic air = poisonous air
a murderous 220 degrees F is a very hot temperature |
