Hi,
I was wondering if these two verbs could both apply to cook turkeys.
A. I baked a turkey.
B. I roasted a turkey.
Which one is correct? If they're both O.K., which one sounds more natural?
Thanks in advance. |

Both mean "cook in the oven".
"Bake" is more natural for bread, cakes, pies, roast is more natural for turkey (and other meat and veg).
If it's potatoes, roast potatoes are cut up and cooked with oil, and baked potatoes are cooked whole in their skins, both in the oven.
Before people had ovens, the words may have had different meanings, I don't know.
Hope helps,
