Hi everyone,

I am currently in the Anam area, and would like to know if there are any good English-taught Hapkido schools nearby (reasonably, I'm willing to travel a half hour a few times a week, but anything over 45 minutes is a bit much). Most of the ones I found are within the 100,000-150,000 KRW range, which I find quite pricey. Anyone got any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

Most Korean kids go to school all the time. And South Korean schools are brutally competitive. It’s a very winner-take all system. Kids jump off buildings because they can’t handle the pressure. There is also a lot of extreme bullying in Korean schools, which has already caused several high profile suicides just this year. Many in South Korea believe this bullying is the product of a relentlessly competitive culture, and one that focuses extensively on academic competition. Clearly this is not healthy. Or productive.
