Can you give the complete sentence where you found that phrase? It's not a common one, so I'm not sure. The context would be helpful.

I am sorry that I didn't attach the dialogue. This is it:

(Woman): What does she think of New Zealand so far?
(Man): I think she's enjoying it, being in a new place. Yesterday she was amazed that it was still light outside after 8pm.
(Woman): Why? Does it get dark much earlier in her country?
(Man): Apparently, her country doesn't use the daylight saving time.
(Woman): I guess that means the morning starts very early there, too.

A question is given about the conversation above: What are they talking about? The answere is "the late daytime." My question is the meaning of "the late daytime2 in this context.

In that case, I think "the late daytime" means it stays light very late, so daytime doesn't stop early in the evening.
