I am puzzled in understanding the following due to shooting?

“There’s nothing short of Trump shooting my daughter in the street and my grandchildren — there is nothing and nobody that’s going to dissuade me from voting for Trump,” Ms. Butler said.

This woman is so much in favor of Trump, that she will vote for him no matter what, unless he did something like shot her daughter and grandchildren in the street. A little weird thing to say, but you get the point she will vote for him and not be easily dissuaded.

Lorikeet:
Thank you.
・His escape was little short of miraculous.→His escape was miraculous.
If so, ”There’s nothing short of Trump shooting my daughter in the street and my grandchildren” should be interpreted " Supposing Trump shooting my daughter in the street and my grandchildren," Am I right in this understanding?

That's the idea, I think. Unless Trump shot my daughter and grandchildren in the street, nothing would make me change my mind about voting for him.
