send people barreling toward each other
What does barreling mean? And this phrase is Verb+Object+Complement? _________________ Hiromichi |

When I hear "barreling" I imagine someone in a barrel up the side of a mountain, and someone pushing on the barrel so it comes rolling down more and more quickly.
In this case, it means they are fast approaching the time when they will be running against each other (should the delegate count continue the way it is).
Sorry I'm not so good on the verb/object/complement question. Maybe someone who is a grammarian can respond. |

Lorikeet:
I get it. In a dictionary I found an expression 'barrel down US 77.'
Thank you again. _________________ Hiromichi |
