Why do so few people respond to posts here?

Are you afraid of making mistakes? Don't be! Even teachers here make many mistakes but they understand each other, and if they don't, they ask.

Do you want to say something? If you want to improve your English, you need to read and write, not just speak and listen. If you don't like to type in English, use Speech-to-Text software such as Windows Speech Recognition, Apple Siri, Dragon Dictation or other free apps. You can save time, practice your English pronunciation, and start using English to communicate with others which is the most important thing you can do.

I did the math. There are 50 topic threads here, 121 replies, and 133,957 views. So, for every thread, there are on average 2,679 views. Unbelievable!!! Shocked

It's no wonder more teachers than students post comments here. Confused

Hi longshikong,

thanks for the encouragement. I think it's finaly my turn to respond.

I think you're absolutely right. I have the same fear as everyone else and I don't want to make mistakes either. Embarassed But guys, this is the Internet! The good thing is, it is absolutely anonymous - well at least if you want to.

One of my former english teachers in school told us:

The difference why children are better than adults when it comes to learning a new language is because they are not affraid of making mistakes.

So everyone, don't hasitate and let's make mistakes together Smile

Yours Johnee

Ps.: First post Very Happy Woooohey Very Happy
