Dear teachers,
There a sentence going like this: The driver stopped in the right side of the road.
Is it right? Can we say:The driver stopped on the right side of the road?
Thank you very much!

Hello Puzzle,

As a British English speaker, I would say 'the driver stopped ON the right side of the road. I suspect this may be a typo as the letters o and i are next to each other on the English keyboard!

Hope this helps

Bob

Hi Puzzle,

TeacherBob said that as a British English speaker, he would say ON the right side of the road.

As an American English speaker, that is also true. Americans would also say, "The driver stopped ON the right side of the road."

Best wishes,
Annemarie
