One thing I find difficult about acquiring a second language is about giving structural variation to an existing idiom and making sure it is still acceptable.
For example using one expression, "keep one's options open", can I say "keep some other options open" as in the context, "Amy wants to work for a Japanese company when she goes back to Vietnam. She also kept some other options open such as coming back to Japan and work as translator or enter a graduate school in Japan."?

Yes that would work, except you need "working" as a translator or "entering" a graduate school in Japan because the have to match "coming back". |
