There are many migrant labors in Taiwan, and most of them are from Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, and Vietnam. Most male migrant labors here are working in building and electronic industries as building workers and factory operators, while most female migrant labors here are working as housemaid. I think they come to taiwan not because they can't find jobs in their hometown but because they can make more money here in Taiwan. To tell the truth, I don't consider that their ability is worse than Taiwanese'. In fact, many of them possess college degree and have a better English capability than Taiwanese. It's just unfortunately that they grew up in a relatively poor country with a low national income, so they choose to be migrant labors for earning more money to improve their family. As a Taiwanese, I do appreciate their devotion to this small land because most young Taiwanese wouldn't do those kinds of jobs like they do. Anyway, I think everyone should respect migrant labors in his country just like respecting his compatriots for the sake of their painstaking devotion.
