Let me introduce Japanese summer festival. Japanese summer festival is (natumaturi). This is very traditional culture. Many people carry portable shrine on their shoulders. And we wear yukata! Yukata looks like kimono. But yukata is thinner than kimono. Made of cotton. And many street stall for example, candy like cotton, scoop goldfish. Many Japanese people Like these. Please tell me about your countrys festival.

I am from Hong Kong. First of all, I want to ask how the Japanese Spring festival comes from? Besides, do you have Christmas or Easter in your country?
In Hong Kong, we have Christmas, Easter, Lunar New Year, New Year, Dragon Boat Festival and Mid Autumn Festival. It seems that our festivals are come from eastern and western countries.
Lunar New Year, Mid Autumn Festival and Dragon Boat Festival are come from China. Whereas Christmas and Easter are come from Western countries.
Of the festivals in Hong Kong, I like Christmas. Perhaps, it falls at the end of the year. Most children in Hong Kong like Lunar New Year because they can get red packets( with money inside) from their relatives and parents. |

In Japan there are many trsditional festivals through four season. But we have lot of them in summer season. Some of them came from Chine and
europian countries originally. We have also Christmas but we don't think it japanese festival because christian people are a very few in japan.
But most of japanese young children enjoy christmas day because they believe Santa Claus and he gives them wonderful present.
Next time I'll give you more detail about japanese festival. By |

What is yakiniku? Also, it may be better to say "I dream of becoming a memeber of the grounds staff".
You maybe the only person I know who enjoys carrying rice!!
Take care,

Hmm. I'd love to be able to just go to a Jpanese Festival. I'm not sure of what the American version would be, July 4th Independence Day maybe? But, I'd like to ask some questions of you on other Japanese Culture Festivals if I may!
Maybe she meant Curry Rice. lol _________________

As Roseray said, we Chinese now combine the holidays in our own culture with those of the western countries. I believe it is due to the quick globalization of world's economy. By the way, I'm also curious about the origin of the Japanese Spring Festival for we have a Spring Festival too. And it comes from an old story about "nian", which means "year" in Chinese. It was said that "nian" was a terrible monster during the ancient times. It looks mostly like a lion. It comes to the village to do harms to people during the end of winter. So people came up with an idea of scaring it away with fireworks. So that's the reason why we light fireworks during Spring Festivals. _________________ It's a new world, it's a new start,
