Hi, I'm a Canadian living in Japan. Most of the time, I like living here.
It's so hard to say what is good and bad about Japan. It really depends where you live.
I lived in the countryside for a year. It was magical! I loved the slow pace of life, friendly people, beautiful countryside, and wild places.
Now I live in Tokyo. Sometimes I feel that this city is so different from the little town in the countryside that it's almost a different country!
Tokyo is smelly, noisy, busy and filled with people in a hurry.
Sometimes I really miss the Japanese country town I lived in. |

I think it has nothing to do with Japan but all to do with the difference between cities and the people who live there, and the countryside and the people who live there.
You could just as easily be describing Toronto and a small village like Port Severn, Ontario. |
