I teach a Saturday morning class with a bunch of young learners and all they want to do is play games. So, I will be interested in hearing what people come up with on this one. I also put thought into this game and could not think of an easy way to modify it. I found that's the key- you don't want t...

Try to get your hands on existing curriculums and teacher's books to help you out. Borrow ideas and your own plan should come together based on what you want to achieve. I spent many hours on this in the beginning of the year, but then it was worth it. What I learned so far...Keep it simple. Have yo...

Thanks for sharing. I'm now on my 3rd year teaching 4-6 year olds. I struggled a lot in the first 2 years but it's gotten easier and much more fun. So hang in there. Keep getting ideas from websites-there is so much info out there. Do you use a book and have help with the curriculum? If you are on y...

An idea for a great song to use is 'We've Got the Whole World In Our Hands'. This is a song for all ages and can help teach the vocabulary you need. Doing a google search brings up all kinds of links you can use for classroom ideas. Good Luck!

multi-level different ages

Seeking advice on how to handle a rather tough class. The ages range from 3-5, and the levels range from no English, some English, and advanced. There are about 8 children 1 hr/ 3 days a week. I have no helper, and limited resources (whatever I bring). The class works for about half an hour and then...

mommy and me class

I now find myself doing a mommy and me class for the first time. I have experience with little ones, but I would like some resources which give ideas on how to keep the class interesting for both moms and kids. The children are around two. websites? ideas? Thanks in advance.

popular songs

My little 5-6 year olds really like to sing. We do many of the traditional kid songs and they work very well. I wanted to jazz up the class and introduce a popular 'adult' song or two. I'm not trying for 'School of Rock' but just wanted to have some fun and try something new. Has anyone tried this? ...

I'm sorry I cannot offer help on where to find ESL schools but we are in a similar situation so I hope to offer a little encouragement. We moved to Turkey 4 months ago and I quickly put my son,4, in a preschool totally in L2. Although he had been exposed to L2 he certainly had no immersion like this...
