Modal verbs

Have you noticed that ESL students always misuse modal verbs?
For example, I find that most students always use "should" instead of "might" when they make suggestions or show a kind of possibility.

My suggestions

1 Always tell students that English is not difficult. They just need to use English in their daily lives as much as possible.
2 Give students some small gifts as a kind of encouragement.
3 Make sure that students could get enough input everyday.

My opinion

I think you can ask students to do self-assessments or peer-assessments. You can calss the students into several groups and every one have to assess all the members of the group. In this way they can get a sincere assessment from their classmates.
