Re: setting up a training centre.

I appreciate what you are saying and agree with you. However, I have a question. I was wondering whether the approach to teaching differs in the bigger cities such as Shanghai and Beijing. I would like to know as it is my ambition to work in Shanghai. I believe that the Western style is more appreci...

Re:reply again.

In British English, the hyphen/dash isn't always used in that way. It looks odd to me, to see it used as a fifteen minute coffee break/a fifteen minutes coffee break. One minute's silence.
A 15 minutes coffee break.
A one-day training course.
A one week holiday.
A two week holiday.

There are many more.

Re:large classes and advice for the weary teacher.

I am in a similar situation in a small city in North Eastern China. I teach at a middle school with over 65 students per class. I am struggling, because the classes are too big and the classrooms are too small. I have tried several approaches from games to songs to roleplays. I found the roleplays w...

I only have a Bachelor of arts degree too and I work in China. I would like to work in Shanghai, so I am considering doing a TEFL/TESOL course in the near future. I think it is useful to invest in a TEFL course before going abroad to work. However, it does not always help. It may be useful for you t...

re:language schools.

I am very interested and serious about setting up an ESL language school in China. I can definitely see the need for them. I would dearly love to go to Shanghai and do this, as I really love that city!!!!!!!!!! :D I teach in North East China and have felt completely frustrated by the spoonfed approa...
