1 and 2 are grammatically incorrect as they do not contain a verb.
a and b are correct.
You may hear 1 and 2 used as slang, and in this case, the meaning would be the same as a and b.

The other alarm bell is that they won't put you in contact with current teachers. If the school has nothing to hide, they should have no probl...

I think your idea of using the native language is a good one. I usually use a two sided form, one side in English, the other in their native language, so that higher levels can use the English version. A grading system is also a good idea, ranging from 1 for poor, to 5 for excellent. A feedback form...

Hi Leenie
Could you tell us what materials you are using with the students? Do you have to follow a certain course of study? And what are the students' objectives?

Hi Vic Your second example is a second conditional question: If we left after the mass, would it be right? (If + past tense + would) "No, it wouldn't" is a grammatically correct second conditional answer to this question. The long answer might be: No, if we left after mass, it wouldn't be right. You...

If the objective of your activity is communication and fluency, then correction of errors during the activity should probably be kept to a minimum - the students need to practise communicating, and need to develop coping strategies to get their message across. If you constantly correct, you will int...

Hi I'm not sure if you're still looking for videos for the ESL classroom - I realise your post was a couple of months ago! If you are, what exactly do you need to teach with the videos? The key is often in how you use the video rather than which video you use. Let me know some more details about wha...

The advantage is that the material is authentic English, and it is possible to create some very focused activities with short pieces of text from websites. Have a look at ...

Hi Gabriela There are certainly advantages to having a TEFL qualification. You'll find that the majority of employers nowadys require a qualification of some kind. It won't assure you a job, but it will certainly help! The two most internationally recognised qualifications are the Cambridge CELTA an...

If you have access to video, here's an activity to try: Find a short scene from a film or TV show which depicts a typical aspect of British, or American, or any other culture (a scene in a British pub, for example). Show this to your students and have them talk about the diferences between what they...
