I'm looking to get a certificate so I can take it abroad and actually know what I'm doing when I'm teaching.
I know I should take an accredited course but it seems like there's a lot of these online places. I would take a course at a local school, but I would like to finish between Feb (when I quit my job) and the summer. The only intense course costs $2900 in my area.
Do any of you have suggests for good online courses? I need something that means something to the academic world just in case I decide to get a teaching liscense in the US and pursue a teaching career.
Also, is there a strong difference in terms for teaching English? That is, ESL, TEFL, or whatever acronym that refers to English being taught.
