cover letters, resumes, & finding jobs

Post by shelu » Sun Aug 18, 2013 11:40 am

i am assembling my materials to seek my first esl job in china and wanted to solicit advice form experienced esl teachers in china about how to most effectively put together my resume and what to include in my cover letter..

i do have quite a bit of teaching and leadership experience but have never been a full-time teacher. my experience from the 80's till 2001 runs a wide gamut of learning environments form assisting a kindergarten teacher at a montessori school to working as an outdoor leader and environmental education specialist with teenagers to teaching sections of courses for undergraduates while i worked on my ph.d.

more recently, i have led some youth programs and lectured quite a bit at conferences and seminars on a host of subjects, from health to co0ntemporary media to cross-cultural communication.

my questions are, how do i calculate how much teaching experience i have? how can i make my unu8sual profile appealing to prospective employers?

i have two m.a.'s and will submit my ph.d. thesis next year for final approval.

any and all suggestions and advice would be highly appreciated.

thanks! :)
