Can anyone tell me the most highly regarded schools for a MA TESOL program. I am in the process of my search, but would like to know the prestige of the schools. Or does it really matter the prestige? I got my TESOL cert. at SIT. How pretigious is SIT for the Masters program. What about the Columbia Teachers College. Any thoughts? Also I'd like to hear about what schools you all went to, and what you thought about them. Thanks!

Ok...I've gotten 15 views, but no replies. Talk to me people. Tell me where you did your masters and how you liked it!

I am getting my CSUS (Sacramento, CA). Though it is not prestigious, I do think it is a good school. This is definately the hardest thing I have ever done, I was not prepared for the load of work --its not the complexity as much as the sheer amount-- that has been dumped on me.

Good Luck where ever you go.

thanks

Hi All,

I have essentially the same question as the original poster- What are some well regarded MA TESOL programs? Wondering if anyone has some current insight?

I was enrolled in an MA TESOL program here in the States, but was very disappointed and withdrew.

I'm looking for a program that is:
-focused on application, not theory
-focused on working internationally, not domestically
-is experiential not research based
-attracts experienced EFL teachers

I've been looking at SIT, but apart from that program I'm not having much luck. (Any recent grads from there with opinions?)

Any advice would be welcome.

Thanks in advance.

If you are looking for a US school focussed on overseas that gets people with years of experience in EFL, you might want to look into Anaheim.

(I didn't do Anaheim's).
