English "Only"

In the battle with making English the official language their are many controversial discussions. I do agree that this country, like many other countries, should acquire English as the official language but only if it does not effect the quality of Bilingual education.
English as the official language should only be constituted for official government business. Bilingual education is ultimately a tool to eventually gear our students to speak English not for them to be in Bilingual for their educational existence.
Although studies have shown that English only is is also effective I do believe that bilingual education, with a time limit, could be more effective.
