Two way immersion?

Does anyone have experience with two way immersion programs? It looks pretty good on paper because both groups learn some in their own language and some in the new language, and also because they each get exposure to each other. However, I’m a little concerned that one group may get more out of the program than the other? Can anyone verify/counter that? Any suggestion on how to keep it equal?
