Subtle differences
A lot of these are only subtly different from each other.
product - Can be anything made by a company
goods - Most commonly used with food
manufacture - Making something (verb)
article - Nowadays refers mostly to articles in magazines and newspapers. However can still be used when referring to an article of clothing.
item - Can be literally anything
cargo - Something being transported
freight - Something to be transported by ship or air. Normally measured by weight or size.
shipment - Refers to the entirety of what is being shipped for you.
commodity - A common product without brand value
merchandise - Something ready for sale in a shop
consignment - A quantity of something being transported or stored together.
Hope this helps, rather than confuses...
