Basic English for Health Care Workers

Post by M.Hull » Sun Oct 23, 2005 11:30 pm

Hello, everyone:
For those of you having difficulty finding material to teach this very popular topic, I have now designed a course for suitable for English language teachers who do not have a background. Find it at www.nursingesl.com , Clayton International Consulting.

This is 26 hour course of twelve, 2 hour classes plus a final exam. It is a package of 2 books: The Teacher’s Guide and the Student Workbook. The course is designed for classroom work. Each exercise is suitable to be read aloud or silently and is followed by a number of comprehension and acquisition tasks. These may include Mix and Match for vocabulary, short answers, long answers, or short story writing. Some exercises ask students to present orally. Students will have the opportunity to read, write, speak and listen specifically within the context of health and health care. The intent is to help individuals assimilate into their work in the field of health care, in an English-speaking country. The course will also be useful to those students in the health professions who wish to work in an English-speaking country upon graduation. (These latter students will also find the course, English for Nurses and Medical Personnel© helpful. It is on-line at www.e4on.ca, English for Overseas Nurses.)

Bye for now
