Interactive Software for Home Tutoring
Anyone know some good English Teaching software programs that are level based (Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced) and cover the whole spectrum from grammar to reading to listening, etc.? I want to use something in my home tutoring with my new PDP for multiple students rather than handing out textbooks all the time.
Thanks.
Michael

Hi, you can try the Focus on Grammar series, it's level graded, has grammar, writing, reading and listening practice. I've used FOG, it's good material but not very attractive to the eye, no video, no colors.

I've also tried The Rosetta Stone, but didn't like it.

hope this info is of use to you,

Better go for an online solution, like Let's Learn English
http://www.letslearnenglish.co.uk
They seem to cover just about everything.

Testing Rosetta Stone
Hullo
I'm testing Rosetta Stone and like the other poster I don't like it very much. I saw the online demo of Reward and thought it looked quite good. Has anybody tried it?
And seriously I have yet to find English Learning Software which isn't dismal, cheap and grotty. But it must exist! Someone recommend something!
And I want to test this software properly, has anyone done anything similiar, developed test criteria, quantifiable if possible?
greetings
Lucie Jane

We use Rosetta Stone and it works really well for beginning levels to low-intermediate. The thing I like about it is that you can keep track of just about everything the students do.
I am, however, looking for software that's aimed at upper-intermediate and advanced levels, but am having a very tough time finding it. Any ideas?
