Are there any good sites for bestseller lists for ESL coursebooks?
I got the ones through Amazon.com, but in my experience, most schools order books directly from distributors or publishers, so this isn't an accurate representation. |

Well, the figures naturally a closely guarded secret by the publishers but you can guess a few of them...
Headway is undoubtedly the best-selling general British English course. But other that are doing well will include Cutting Edge adn English File. In its time, the Cambridge English Course will have done good things too.
Nowadays Headway is still doing well - in its multiple new editions - which says as much about our imagination as purchasers/adopters as it does about the book.
As for best-selling secondary courses, they're probably books you've never heard of. Books that sell directly into the market in countries such as Spain and Italy.
For supplementary texts, obviously look no further than Grammar in Use. Right book, right time. Enough said. |
