Basic Grammar Books In Print or Online

Post by Gringo_in_Mexico » Sat Mar 18, 2006 8:04 pm

I will be completing my English Teacher Training here in around 3 months at a University here in Mexico. However, if there is only a cursory re-examination of English grammar, I would like to have a handy book of no more than 150 pages or so of the most important grammatical points in English, along with some examples. This should NOT be a coursebook for students but one for new EFL/ESL teachers who need a refresher on an grammatical topic.

I wonder if there might be one I can download online as a PDF file or Word document, even it means being charged for it with a credit card number online, rather than having to order one online from Amazon, for example, and dealing with the cost of shipping and waiting time.

Please give me any useful online links from which English grammar texts can be downloaded or read, or of any book that might be available to buy right here in Guadalajara, Mexico. Thanks.

There's "An Elementary English Grammar" which is not as comprehensive as say Murphy but is however free. You can find it at "http://www.hiway.co.uk/~ei/english/index.html"
