APEC Cyber Academy 2006 International Contest

Would you like to link your students with K-12 students in Asia while having fun learning 21st century ICT (information and communication technology)? Please join the APEC Cyber Academy 2006 International Contest (http://linc.hinet.net/apec/ )

ACA hosts an annual international online contest since 2002. The nine-week event for 2006 will start on the 2nd of October and conclude on the 3rd of December. You are invited to form a team of students (5-20 students) to join the activities. Sign up your teams before October 9th.

Each team will participate in either Networked Collaborative Learning Programs, ICT Cyber Camp, or APEC Journalists. There are a series of structured learning activities that are designed to increase your students technology skills and confidence in using computer through project-based learning and collaborative team work.Top prize for the winning teams include a PC. Detailed descriptions can be found on the ACA web site.

The APEC (Asia Pacific Economic Corporations, the UN equivalent in Asia) and the Ministry of Education in Taiwan has co-sponsored the APEC Cyber Academy (ACA), a free virtual learning environment for students from the Pacific Rim and North America to engage in inter-cultural activities and establish friendship.

ACA is approved by the Department of Education and compliant with the Child Online Protection Act (COPA) that was enacted by the Congress in the United States of America.
