Looking for a 100-Hour Intensive English Curriculum

Post by gumbo278 » Sun Sep 26, 2010 5:36 pm

Hello all,

I am trying to find a 100-Hour (approx) intensive English curriculum that will be appropriate for Middle/High School age students in Afghanistan. They will have had some exposure to English, but somewhat limited ability. Among other things, the curriculum needs to prepare them for correspondence (written and spoken) with native English speakers in the US. While being intensive it also needs to be fun, and if it simultaneously enhances media literacy this is a plus.

Are there complete curricula out there (ideally free) that I could access and adapt to this program as needed?

What would be the best kind of certification to prepare teachers for a program of this kind?

This is part of an international development project and I need to present a curriculum to funders ASAP, so any help on this matter will be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!
