Skype Advice

Post by norenglish » Mon Feb 27, 2012 12:10 pm

Hi,

While I have taught English in Brazil in front of a class and also one-to-one in Europe, I recently have been asked to teach a class of 6 people(from Vietnam) via the internet through Skype. While I don't think the students are beginners, the main goal of the class to get them to speak English(as of now, they normally just write).

I would like to know, from people here that have experience, how the dynamic of trying to teach English via Skype differs from an "real" classroom? What can be done the same, what must be done differently?

Any tips and/or advice would be wonderful. Any practical tips, such as what type of activities work well in a Skype classroom would be extra wonderful. :-)

Thanks everyone,

Jeremy
