How much focus on grammar?
In many US high schools grammar is not focused on in class. However, it is necessary to understand how to use English properly. In an ESL classroom it is essential so that students get to piece together what they are learning in different situations. On the other hand if it is focused on too much than it can take away from learning the language fully. If you focus too much on how to say it correctly, you'll never get to actually saying it.
