DOES ANYONE KNOW THE BACKGROUND OF Mr. ABDULAZIZ AL-TASSAM

Post by elsmike » Thu Jul 03, 2014 10:23 am

Apparently, Mr. Abdulaziz Saleh Al-Tassam the HR manager of Education Experts (EDEX) has turned EDEX into a toxic company where hardworking and competent native English speakers are treated as second class citizens. I am one of the many weary, frustrated, unhappy and demotivated teachers who work at King Saud University Preparatory Year Program (KSU PYP).

Please share your experiences if you have worked with this man (Mr. ABDULAZIZ AL-TASSAM). The current EDEX HR manager.

Thank you.

Guys, this is all I can share with you......

Since he joined the company at the end of last year (2013), everything went downhill.

For instance;

1. No EDEX ESL teacher is getting the roughly 8% yearly salary increment.
2. No one received their holiday pay prior to June vacation this year and same applies to those leaving in July.

In fact, Saudi law states;

Chapter Four: Leaves
Article (109):
(1) A worker shall be entitled to a prepaid annual leave of not less than
twenty one days, to be increased to a period of not less than thirty days
if the worker spends five consecutive years in the service of the employer.

(2) A worker shall enjoy his leave in the year it is due. He may not forgo
it or receive cash in lieu during his period of service. The employer may
set the dates of such leave according to work requirements or may grant
them in rotation to ensure smooth progress of work. The employer shall
notify the worker of the date of his leave in sufficient time of not less
than thirty days.

This is clearly against the law of the land, but the one man who
side-stepped this law is Abdulaziz Saleh Al- Tassam, the EDEX HR manager.

3. There is a process known as (istiqdam) which allows teachers to bring their immediate families to the kingdom. To submit an application form, you need the HR manager’s signature. But guess what? Mr. Abdulaziz Saleh Al-Tassam refused to sign all the forms that were handed to him. So, a lot of hardworking teachers working at KSU were denied to bring their wives and children. This unnecessary burden was caused by Mr. Abdulaziz Saleh Al- Tassam, the EDEX HR manager.

4. As for the end of contract flight, the figures that Mr. Abdulaziz Saleh
Al-Tassam has come up with shows how much he disrespects the native English teachers. For example, if you choose to receive the cash allowance in lieu of flight and book your own flight, he calculated the rate for a child (2-12 years) at 50% to that of an adult rate. I wonder which airline charges a child’s ticket half the rate of an adult ticket.
