Teach North Korean Refugees - Seeking tutors in Seoul!

Post by JaniceTNKR » Mon Dec 04, 2017 8:31 am

Greetings!

My name is Janice Kim. I am a Native English Speaking Teacher for SMOE and I've been volunteering as the Academic Coordinator for Teach North Korean Refugees (NGO) in Seoul. We are currently seeking volunteer tutors to offer 1:1 English tutoring to North Korean refugees living in the Seoul area.

TNKR is a non-governmental, humanitarian-based organization that is completely refugee-centered. We connect refugees to volunteer English tutors in the Seoul area (most refugees are based in Seoul/Gyeonggi). The refugees are given the opportunity to CHOOSE their tutors and study 1:1. By allowing the refugees to choose their own tutors, this helps them to exercise their freedom, which they did not have in North Korea. Furthermore, TNKR aims to help raise their confidence and give them power to move forward.

If you are interested in North Korean issues and/or want to help out the local community, please visit our website to learn more about TNKR and how to apply. Apply here: http://www.teachnorthkoreanrefugees.org/volunteer

Our next Track 1 Orientation is on Sun, 1/14 and the following Matching Session is on Sun, 1/21 (Both sessions are invitation only.)
