Advice for lone 8 yr old
I have a new student who is 8 years old and very shy.. she is a private student so consequently I have no other students to aid me with games and confidence. Can anyone give me any tips, games or ideas to bring out her confidence and make our lessons worthy of an eight year olds mind.........thankyou
Hi Hannah,
You said it yourself - she is a new student. It can take some time to "break the ice" but from my experience, even if they don't show it, they like the games, i believe that through different card games and other fun games, she will start to build up her confidence. Don't give up. Don't show her that you are discouraged by her lack of confidence or by her shy character. Play on the carpet, with cookies (low fat...) and if you show her that you are having fun, perhaps she will open up.
laughter is the key.
Hope this help a bit.
Good luck.
