ESL teachers in the classrooms

Post by suarez07 » Wed Dec 14, 2011 3:55 am

After reading some literature about how the ESL Facilitator model operates, I must bounce some of my opinions out to others for discussion. How I am interpreting this teaching model raises some concerns. It is basically an inclusion type of setting where the ESL teachers offer support to the intermediate group of a mainstreamed classroom. I have a problem with not servicing the other groups and being a co-teacher. Being as though I am an ESL teacher who teaches alone, based on a separate curriculum, the ESL Facilitator model is not something I support.
