Finding a niche...

With today's job market the way it is, I've been questioning my new career path and where it will lead me in 3, 5, or even 10 years from now. I spoke with a ESL Department Supervisor yesterday while getting my information packet for becoming a substitute teacher this school year and we discussed many things, including the future of ESL. One aspect that came up was the "Trifecta" of keeping a teaching position for the next 10 years, which included: obtaining an ESL Teaching certification, obtaining a certification in teaching students with learning disabilities, and learning as much about new technology as possible. What do you think in regard to this idea?
