Halloa! I am a librarian at East Lansing Public Library (Michigan, USA) with a very active group of teens who have expressed interest in exchanging letters with international pen pals.

I thought that perhaps interested participants could serve as facilitators by collecting profiles of their students, including name, age, 5-10 interests/fandoms (the more specific the better: “Doctor Who, 5SOS, and Captain America” vs. “TV, music, and movies”), and some hobbies, and e-mail them on over to me at jleecul@cityofeastlansing.com. I'll print the profiles out for my teens, who would match up with one or more of your students based on shared interests, etc.

The teens would write their letters and pop them into envelopes addressed to your students (this way we can reinforce How To Address An Envelope) sans postage, and I’d collect the lot and mail them to your classroom in bulk. Then your students would write back, and you mirror the process, and mail their letters en masse, c/o the East Lansing Public Library. And back and forth and back and forth!

That’s how I envision it going, anyway. Feel free to let me know if you see room for improvement!
