Choosing a curriculum for an ESL school

Post by GeSchmidt » Tue Jun 03, 2014 3:35 am

Hi all,

I'm looking for some advice on choosing and designing an ESL curriculum. I'm the DoS at a new ESL training center set to open some time this year. Currently I'm at the point where I need to design our teaching curriculum (for both General English and Business English students). As I'm sure you're aware this is a daunting and challenging task that also takes a considerable amount of time. For the same reason I'm looking into purchasing a ready-made ESL curriculum (books, ppts, handouts, etc.) and then subsequently make alterations to adapt them to my own teaching model. However, I've found it very difficult to both track down suppliers of such ready-made solutions and to find any third party reviews of their product quality.

So I was wondering if anyone has any good suggestions about choosing a curriculum? Are you familiar with any ready-made solutions on the market?

Thanks!
