Advice on downloading IPA fonts

Post by caipiroska » Mon Jul 26, 2004 7:05 pm

I need to be able to produce some worksheets using IPA fonts. I've just downloaded this very simple programme and it seems to be working well.

However, many people in the past have mentioned this site for downloading IPA fonts: ... encore-ipa

but I thought it looked quite complicated to download. However, the advantage (I think - correct me if I'm wrong!) is that if I download the fonts from this site, I'll be able to 'read' documents containing the IPA symbols, e.g. if a colleague sends me an email and if I save it on my computer, I should be able to see the symbols correctly.

So, two questions: is the download at the Sil site difficult? And, would it allow me to do what I mentioned above?

Many thanks.

I don't know why you think it's a difficult download, but since it's free you can try it and dump it if it's a bother.
