student who is behind in other subjects
I have a 6th grader who is behind his classmates in all classes. He isn't a refugee, but in his old "school" he was able to negotiate how much homework he had to do. That doesn't happen here in the US. How do I get him caught up in math, science, even basic literacy? He refuses to read, and when things don't go his way while playing sight word bingo, he threw a temper tantrum. Does anyone have any advice?
