IATEFL, IATQUO, UK College of Teachers Legit?

Post by ksmith806 » Thu Jun 23, 2005 8:17 pm

Does anyone happen to know if teflcorp.com a reliable place to receive a certificate? I don't know much about ESL corporations and affiliations. They say they are affiliated with IATQUO (the International Association of TESOL Qualifying Organizations), IATEFL (the International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language), and the UK College of Teachers. Are these all legit qualifying affiliations? I don't want to drop a couple thousand dollars then find out that the certificate I got isn't worth beans.

Also, if anyone knows anything about teflcorp.com, please let me know.

I can't comment on the others but IATEFL is definitely legit, here's their web address: www.iatefl.org
However, I'm not sure that they normally give their approval to individual schools, colleges, etc. So I would take this claim on the part of the school you mention with a pich of salt. Go online and check them out, their a great support to teachers - wherever they teach
