Preparing for the next-generation TOEFL

Post by mangoman » Tue Jun 03, 2003 4:34 pm

Teachers & Directors:

Are you really helping your students to get ready for the TOEFL?

It's important to note that ETS (Educational Testing Service), makers of the TOEFL (tm), is currently introducing two new products - LanguEdge & Criterion - to help students, instructors, universities and language schools adequately prepare for the next-generation TOEFL. The TOEFL will measure all 4 communication skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking) via an Internet-based exam; the test (and score results) will be offered to students in July, 2004 and binding results will be mailed to institutions in July, 2005.

These two products are the *only* products to include authentic TOEFL material. LanguEdge is a multimedia instructional software program using real-world language in academic settings to help practice and assess English ability. Criterion is an online essay-writing evaluation service, permitting you to receive immediate feedback and holistic score. Ask your school if they are using these authorized products!

Students can visit: http://toefl.org/toeflcbt/cbtindex.html. For questions about taking the exam in Mexico, please write to [email protected].

Institutions interested in the authorized ETS products should contact me about sales and special offers (through June 30!).
