Contrastive Analysis and different concepts of words

Dear friend ,I would like to write a paper about the role of contrastive Analysis and different meaning and concepts of words in didferent languages.For example in English the word "owl " is the sign of wisdon but in Persian Language it is the sign of Bad luck.You'll help me if you send me several examples of different words.Best wishe s-Morteza Barin.

I was watching Possession the other day (haven't read the novel), and in it was the phrase 'A moping owl doth to the moon complain' (Google it)...which (explicitly) gives the owl('s call at least) the same connotations as in the Persian language(s?). :o But I suppose you could still research and present the most frequent meaning-connotations (from their occurences in various phrases) of various animals in "differing" languages. 8) :)
