textbooks

Post by theking » Mon Apr 14, 2003 3:49 pm

I am currently a NET teacher in a Chinese secondary school in Hong Kong. My students level of spoken and written English is absymal. I need some help, the crap textbooks given to me that are produced for Government schools are of no use. That is garbage.

I was wondering if anybody knows any good textbooks (really, it can be anything) that can aid me in my teaching.

Thank you.

why textbooks

i am really surprised that you are asking for textbooks.

Why not be creative and imaginative.
There is no point in using other textbooks. you can make , create, choose your own teaching material
any authentic text or piece of writing can be adapted to meet your students' needs provided you choose the adequate material.

the text is just a medium to help your students develop their skills.

just think and look around you, you will see the necessary material.

Besides, we are moving to a naw era, viz, the technology one.

What have you got to say about the web - based lessons.
good luck.
