How do we introduce technology in to language learning?

A fundamental question we all face today is how or even if we should introduce technology in to the learning process. Questions such as, when? how much? type of content? etc etc. very quickly spring to mind.

A body of research is just now being accumulated but there are so many variables that, I for one, see many questions being unanswered for some time to come.

The worldwide Kindersite Project has been founded to try to add to the body of research in these fields. Its stated missions are:
1. To allow early learners, irrespective of native language, access to the best graded content available on the Internet in a safe and secure environment and allow them to choose and use the content freely
2. For qualified academic educational researchers to study the children's usage of the content and follow up their usage to best understand outcomes of how and if technology should be integrated in to the educational process

To succeed the project needs access to very large numbers of students worldwide, so meaningful quantities data can be accumulated. It also needs additional professional experience on the academic board to guide the project and recognition and support from educational associations, departments and universities of the like offered by the National School
Boards Association in the USA, that represents the nearly 15,000 public schools districts across the country. "The mission of your site looks wonderful and I commend you for your work in this arena of early childhood education".
