Vetting of staff.

Is it possible to vet potential/actual employees, for criminal record etc.

Considering the recent case of the Canadian national who was the subject of a major man hunt, for crimes against children, it would be useful to be able to check for those with a record.

I personally know that some ESL EFL companies have been looking through applicants' pages at Facebook to get an idea of the type of person coming to the interview. It can seem a big Big Brother-ish, but this helps prevent pedophiles and real criminals from joining the company. In addition, you can get some insight into the person, too. But if the news can be believed, other businesses are doing the same, too.
