Happy first posting birthday to me...
I`m very close to signing a contract with this school and having searched through the archives have only come across one complaint..is there anything else I should know about this school before I take the leap? I have been in the safety cocoon of Japan for the past two years and this will be my first contract.
Thanks. |

Hi there.
I also was asked to take the position.
I hopped on a bus thinking it would be a 15 min ride. I kept asking if we had arrived yet. The snicker on the driver's face told me the whole story.
I arrived, asked a student how much a year tuition was. (80,000 RMB)
Then the head of FT's arrived looking like a pimp in one of those Shaft movies from the 70's. 900,000 RMB of clothes on.
The FT's wouldnt even say hello to the TA that was showing me around. I asked if it was a "close family" and she started to laugh.
They offered me around 6000 RMB.
The good: It seems like a pretty good school. Free apt and a nice visa.
The bad: location. The fact that you will be exploited in working for that price. The contract is as long as a "War and peace" novel. |

Thanks for the reply. I thought the pay was a bit low for how much the kids parents are paying and someone on Buxiban.com wrote that the Principal has his fingers in a few bureaucratic pies... |

Especially all at once.
Seriously though, it sounds like a particularly pretentious and unhappy place to spend a year.

Well, that contract sure is . . . thorough, isn't it? My god, I almost fell asleep halfway through it. I'd never want to be locked down with so many, MANY rules and regulations. Sounds like communism at its best! |

as barmy as that contract is I don't see what it has to do with communism - more to do with pretension and how an air of superiority can lead the way for the explotation of the FT!!!!
Now a school realy sounds communist as in CPC towing the party line communism - when it writes such stuff about its FT's as - The FT attaches great importance to his relations with the chinese mainland and chinese compatriots. - didn't you read that in another thread kev - why no communism lets go goose-step with the headmaster wisecrack there |
