Hello

Does anybody have experience with CET (Cambridge Education & Training) in Tyumen or Nizhnevartov, Western Siberia?

Thanks for your help.

Don't know if the answer is still needed and I actually can't offer much advice here. I've never taught for them but worked as an examiner a few times. Tom (the boss) is always most welcoming, very busy, a little sarcastic and sometimes generous. He offered a job to me a couple of times but I don't fancy living in either Tyumen or Nizhnevartovsk - landscapes and cityscapes there are dreary, not to mention long and VERY cold winters. The money's good though, and I can't imagine them doing shady deals.

Thanks for your reply.

I ended up taking a job elsewhere, but it's good to know that it's a decent place, and I might look into it again in the future.

I have to disagree about the money being good. Tyumen Oblast is the richest region of Russia outside of Moscow; the per capita income is about US $50,000. The school pays new teachers $1100 a month, with an additional $100 per month per year of experience.
Teachers work 28 clock hours a week, til 9:45 on weeknights, with split shifts, plus every Saturday morning. The local people are great, but after a year I couldnt wait to leave.
