Hi,
Could anyone tell me whether Wuxi International School is a good school to work for?
Also, do you know if this school is the same as "Korean International School in Wuxi." I saw a thread about that school but I'm not sure if it's the same school.
Thank you so much for any info.! |

Actually there are two international schools I know ,but I believe there are more. GWOFW I to have a friend that knows someone that had the same problems withWuxi Korean International School. There is another school which is called Wuxi International School which is Chinese Government run and they have been around since 2003 and they deal with major subjects and class sizes of 10. Their abb is WIS. This school is not great as far as contracts go,but I can't speak from experience as I did not work for them. |

Now I'm a bit confused regarding whether they're the same school or not. Great Wall you believe Wuxi International School is the same school as Korean International School in Wuxi while hochhasd is saying they're two separate schools?
This is the e-mail I received about the job from Wuxi International School:

We have vacant positions for 8 teachers. Hopefully, you will join us!
Job description:

I was just e-mailed out of nowhere. I hadn't been searching for a job in China in a couple of years. Plus it sounds too good to be true. |

The whole package. The fact that for every category it says "yes." Does it look like a standard contract to you?
I've never worked in China so not sure what to expect. |

Nothing in that contract is out of the ordinary in my view. Fairly standard really. They don't mention they'll provide the documentation for a working (Z) visa before you arrive so you might inquire about that one. |

Oh, I see. Seems it would be a safer bet just to try to get a teaching job in the US even though positions are tight in my state. Thank you for your comments. |

That's a low salary for an international school. I guess they just use that to make it look more attractive. On the other hand, only 80 students in 12 grades, and 12 or 13 foreign teachers? Small classes sound good. |

Jibbs It sounds like the one who made me an offer for 7000 for two preps that were math and science related until I gave a counteroffer for 10,000 and they told me they would accept with me teaching three preps now. But what! they called the recruiter and changed their mind. I would read the contract. If it is the same thing you do not get a paid Summer off and to get one month paid Winter but you have to sign a 18 month contract |
